                                      Other Characters of Kare Kano

Although Yukino is definitely my favorite character of the series, I do like almost every
one of the other characters as well... and in order to be a more comprehensive
Kare Kano page, I should at least give some information on the other characters... :P

The unique thing about the series is that pretty much every character
got some good emphasis time behind their own stories, so the story did not
always revolve around just Yukino and Arima.

Arima Souichiro
Introduced - Act 1.0

Arima-kun here, the Kareshi in Kare Kano, can be easily described as the shrew that tamed the shrew.  The object of Yukino's affections, Arima is a complicated character, with a more or less impoverished background, which leads him to be determined to excel at whatever he does. A top student, excellent at kendo, and a star athlete, he is your perfect model student.

However, by the end of the series, IMHO, I really got sick of Arima-kun.

Miyazawa Hiroyuki
Introduced - Act 1.0

The esteemed father of Yukino, Hiroyuki is an over-protective parent and businessman. Although appearing to be sporatic and eccentric, he really is a good parent with deep convictions. His sense of justice and intelligence seems to catch his family off guard. ;)

Hiroyuki's episode was the only one that actually almost had me in tears...

Miyazawa Miyako
Introduced - Act 1.0

Mother of Yukino, Miyako is your typical Japanese housewife, who stays home and holds down the fort. She occasionally exhibits airhead-ish tendencies, but is good-hearted, and cares a lot about her daughters and husband. Like Hiroyuki, her spontaneous righteousness and thinking catch others off guard.

Miyazawa Tsukino
Introduced - Act 1.0

The middle sister of the Miyazawa sisters, Tsukino is a year younger than Yukino, and is still in Junior High. Easy-going and always wanting to play, she has a tendency to pick the wrong times, and usually at the cost of her younger sister. She never really gets any true emphasis throughout the series, however.

Miyazawa Kano
Introduced - Act 1.0

The youngest sister, Kano would be considered as clever and witty. Always reading books and manga of genres of mystery, romance, and drama, she picks up a lot of influence from them, being able to figure out situations in correspondence to what she read about in a story. Considering both her and Yukino are quite intelligent for their ages, they probably alienate Tsukino as the "dumb" of the three.

Asaba Hideaki
Introduced - Act 5.0

Arima's best friend, and my favorite character in the series, aside from Yukino. A slacker and a fun-in-the-sun-women-loving freeloader who has a hard time wanting to keep his clothes on, Asaba's life ambition is to create "Asaba Merry-land," where he will have all beautiful women around him at all times, and he wants Arima to help him accomplish his dream, with their boyish good looks.
At first, he dislikes Yukino, for he feels threatened that she will completely take Arima from him, but develops a true friendship with her later on. Others question his intelligence and how he got into Hokuei Prefectural High, since he does poorly in school, but he really is a deep character, and a true friend that anyone should want.
